S4 phone and dust cap

Another pouch- given to me by a fomer temp colleague. Contains trypophobia mirror, keys and lip balm.

Very tangled up earpiece- My Hello Kitty one decided to fail on me after I blogged about how I love its super bass. ^&%#$. So I am back to using the old one.

Wallet

Folder to contain study materials- From YH. Love it a lot~

So yeah that’s about it. Used to carry mints but the cover got dislodged from the box so the entire box spilt inside my bag. Now resting on the goodwill of people who brought sweets to lecture so that I wont fall asleep.

So yeah I am done! And it’s recess week! (and time to start thinking of my personal statement for exchange programme application. Apparently HKU only has 1 slot opened to the entire faculty %^$^#$$#^% and the speaker during the exchange programme talk warned us that Hong Kong is one of the more popular destinations for exchange and many students were disappointed cos they couldnt get the university they wanted. City U and CUHK have 2 and 5 slots respectively, so I am thinking of CUHK as my 2nd option cos of their history programme. Problem is majority of their history modules are conducted in cantonese- I mean how is that even possible? Dont tell me the powerpoint slides are in cantonese?!?!  I am struggling to learn from my dad who isnt very willing to teach me.  I keep forgetting certain words and mixing them up with Hokkien. So I am totally risking it to apply to HKU and keeping my fingers crossed, although I am not very positive about it. Sekali I get rejected for all 3 universities cos others are more outstanding than me. Like how I get rejected despite trying for opportunities in school. #badluckchristina)

Sick

So my immune system decided to crash again during recess week. Think it was lunch and extreme weather changes fault. I puked 6 times last night from 8pm to 11pm and puked again after consuming my medicine. The clinic queue was bloody long but my consultation session was short (relative). The doc gave me a jab much to my surprise. Feeling damn giddy now when typing this, still have one more essay to do and have 2 project meetings tomorrow. Someone save me please.

Food porns and overdue SPCA photos

I am in a food coma right now, and I am procrascinating my assignment. Just now ate at Buffet Town and was super full, although I ate relatively little as compared to the rest. In fact I didnt eat meat at all except for a miserable quantity of fish. In fact I didnt feel like eating any meat. I really dont understand those bloggers who fill their blog with eating escapades. How on earth can they eat so much and not get tired of a certain food?

Anyway I decided not to give a food review since what I ate wasnt a comprehensive reflection of the type of food they have there. So I shall be a meanie and post the pictures taken from my handy S4 phone camera. It did a good job this time.

And this is my near vegetarian diet, apart from the fish fillet and fish cake. The fries, although made of potato, are sinful.

Now throwing back to 1 week ago at SPCA

Helped out for SPCA world animal day, sadly not on the day with the animal shows. Sales was good! Once again big thanks to those who supported SPCA in one way or another! Had a great time interacting with the children who visited the booth to complete the questions and the rest of the volunteers. Anyway here are just some shots of the merchandise (which doesnt change for 20 years).

Yeah a bor-liao shoot of a panda from the animal ambassador booth next to us

Cats of the weeks at the shelter (cos I didnt update for long)

Look at the buddy love! Pacific and Jim. Jim got adopted already, Pacific was pending but not sure if the owner has collected him. Anyway as of last monday he was staying 1 floor below Boogie and both of them kept attempting to play with one another but to no avail.

2013-09-09 12.35.48

Mr Alfie. Look at the eyes. \Swoons. He is very outgoing as compared to Oreo (which is totally black instead of black and white and I didnt get a picture of him). Love playing with him!

2013-09-16 10.56.58

And this one is priceless. Pic of Sahara sleeping. Really proud of my phone and its ability to take a pic of her from the glass outside.

2013-09-16 11.32.32

I just love looking at the pictures I took at SPCA when I have a rough week. It keeps me looking forward to Monday since I can get to play with them and forget my worries for once. It’s my perfect world there, I found a new joy by cleaning their homes and playing with them.

Last digressed pic. My updated squishy collection.

2013-09-12 14.45.18

Anyway I had my first fall during dance lesson. Embarrassing enough. I shant go in-depth. Bye!

Happy birthday to myself!

Another year older.

At 19 I got into university and my entire life changed.

At 19 I face challenges that tested my resilience.

At 19 I face crossroads where I was lost.

For all it’s trials and tribulations, I had a memorable time being 19.

I just hope that my 20th year on earth will be a smooth sailing one. I dont dare to ask for more. I just want my life to be simple where I can enjoy every aspect of it.

Worth it!

So this is my recent new haul. A hello kitty squishy dust plug

image

Sourced a few blogshops and $14 was the cheapest price I could get (at that time). Usual price was $16, most pricey was $18. And $4 could mean a meal to me so why not?

Until today I discovered…The cheapest price now is $9.50. Ohgawdwhyyyyy

image

But it’s ok!!! *self-consolation* I got lovely extras and kudos to extra effort for doing up the packaging (although I would prefer it to be hello kitty than my melody ahahaha) so after all it was worth it!

image

I am sure that sticker itself costs a few dollars already. Anyway I blocked my address for privacy reasons.

2 more days to my birthday… I am getting old…and still loving hello kitty. Arugh!

Ministry of Food

Today I shall be ambitious and do a review of MOF (because I never did any food review before).

It serves Japanese food, prices supposedly cater to the middle to pricey range. The setting is quite class and service is not bad. The waitress cleared our table spick and span, saying that with a clean table we can then enjoy our dessert thoroughly. Haha

So here is what we ordered.

This is salmon sushi with mango on top with mango sauce. Pleasing presentation. The different components blend together quite well. Aiya it’s nice lah!

2013-09-08 13.02.48

Ikura sushi. Eh no comment cos it is one of my favourite types because I like the feeling of the roe popping in my mouth. So whichever place the sushi is made I will still think that it taste nice.

2013-09-08 13.04.28

Pay extra 5 bucks from your ala carte to a set meal and you will get this (there is also soup but didnt take a pic of it). The chawanmushi (in a pretty cup) is rather salty but there are other good stuff inside like shrimp and meat (cant tell which kind of meat though woops). My aunt and mum said that the soup is sweet but I found it salty as well. The edamame tastes natural and is eating it can get addictive like how one eats peanuts.

2013-09-08 13.04.19

So this is what I ordered as the main course which is katsu chicken served neatly in a bento box. Rather a safe option. Coupled with what I was eating previously, it can get really full. Should have ordered ramen instead. So the chicken is fried with egg and has onions and mushrooms buried at the bottom. Well the chicken was rather dry though.

2013-09-08 13.13.02

Dessert time! Even more visually appealing presentations. So this is what my mum and aunt ordered. Interviewing my mum, she said it is nice, taste is just right if you mix it with the ice below.

2013-09-08 13.59.39

And this is mine. It was labelled as a popular seller in the menu so I decided to try it. It is green tea ice cream above custard. The custard isnt cold but not too hot either if not the icecream would have melted long ago. Well the icecream melted pretty fast but if you eat it with the custard you cant taste the green tea. The almonds are crunchy as well. Quite nice, a refreshing combination.

2013-09-08 14.00.14

MOF also offers a wide range of green tea drinks and desserts for the green tea fannatics out there (they have 1-2 pg of green tea beverages in their dessert menu).

And rest assured that the food which you are about to eat are the exact copies of the photos seen in the menu. Overall if you are looking for pretty food (visual and taste), MOF is worth it!

Ok that’s my 1st food review which looks like it is more of a spoof than typical food reviews. I am super full right now. A wonder that my dinner can fit inside my stomach when my lunch hasnt digested.
